I'd set up Synology's remote access service, essentially a DDNS service that creates a hostname under the direct.quickconnect.to domain.
I noticed that that domain was hammering my default web site, typical script kiddie-type exploits. I tried blocking the IP, they re-appeared instantly on another IP.
Once to deleted the DDNS record, the traffic stopped.
It was only a convenience, I can VPN if I need to get to my NAS. Something to look at, and to remember to clean up after you're done playing. :)
