When I was in a kids bowling league, with the American Junior Bowling
>Congress, I got an award for rolling a 206 (200 game). I've never had a
>300 game, though. Also, when I bowled, we were in a handicap league
>instead of "Scratch".
I never got into bowling, but maybe I should have. The mother of
a school friend of mine took a few of us out bowling when I was
about 12 years old. I'd never bowled before, or since.
But I immediately discovered I had a bit of a hook when I threw the
ball and I worked out that if I aimed to almost hit the gutter on
the left, the ball would hook and hit the pins almost dead centre.
Long story short.. The mother, who bowled in a league, was amazed
and not at all happy when I ended up with a better score than she
had.. 250 or very slightly higher.
