• Testing my setup

From Nightfox@999:1/15 to All on Tuesday, September 02, 2025 11:47:46
Hi all - I just joined HealthNet, and I'm testing to make sure my posts get out. It looks like my BBS was able to download posts for the network.

Made it through, and with a correct tagline. I can see that you are a pro at this!

Thanks for verifying. :) I'm getting used to setting up FTN networks. I used to be nervous doing it since FTN seemed complicated.. I feel like Synchronet makes it fairly easy, particularly with the FTN mailer it includes (BinkIt), as well as TickIt, which is a TIC processor.

I have read that you get better support with Synchronet. This system runs Mystic and it
does everything I need it to do. I have tried Synchronet in the past. I liked it, but had
to take it down when I tried an upgrade without backing things up. Shame on me :(

That's a bummer. :( I do think support for Synchronet is good, and the maintainers are fairly active.

My BBS at hobbylinebbs.com runs Wildcat. I prefer it's web interface to Synchronet's
but the telnet version of the site sucks in some ways. I figured out how to run the web
server with Mystic. Check out my home page at: https://mystic-hobbies.com

I had to make some concessions, but it renders just as it should.

Those sites look pretty cool. I've customized my BBS web site a bit, but not as extensively as that. I think ecwebv4 is a pretty good web interface for Synchronet.. He has said he has worked on a new version, but so far it hasn't been released, and I haven't seen echicken be very active on Dove-Net or anything for Synchronet lately. His BBS is still running though.

Tracker1 (who runs, or ran, a Synchronet BBS) started working on his own web interface for Synchronet a couple years ago or so. I thought that looked interesting, but I can't find it now..

Ah, interesting, I found his BBS there (which isn't listed in the Synchronet BBS list), and it appears to be running his new web interface:

Hi all - I just joined HealthNet, and I'm testing to make sure
my posts get out. It looks like my BBS was able to download
    posts for the network.

This is my first packet as well.
