Now - the good news? I dropped from 381 to 312 and the doc
told me to stop the BP meds, and the knees and hip are
not NEARLY as bad as they were!!!

I hope I can be in your shoes in a few months. I have knee problems,
haven't made it to 381 but quite near that value. I've had the
worse pain this week. Then realized my 3month appointment for shots
wasn't scheduled. my fault. So now I have to go out of town, about
1-1.5 hours to get the shots. :-(

Hopefully, I can also get some weight off. I have swelling in my legs,
which is cause some rash/bumps; think it is all due to the weight.

Good luck, hip surgery always scares me -- but those that need it and
get it; normally do quite well.

I too have severe back problems. My two bottom vertebrae are compressed, and that
along with my COPD causes back pains when I get out of breath.

I am attending physical therapy in an attempt to strengthen my core. It is helping
somewhat, but my real problem involves my breathing ability.

Not sure why, but if I exercise and run out of breath, it affects my back. Wouldn't it be
nice if you could go to a priest, have him give you a blessing and eliminate all pain :)

In the meantime, I have to use my arthritis pain relief to help me get around.
