Eileen Wang, former mayor of Arcadia, CA, has agreed to plead guilty to a charge of acting as an illegal agent of the People's Republic of China.

She was the mayor of a big suburban town in the Los Angeles area. Isn't it sickening how China is trying to f with us every chance they get? (Don't bend over in California.)

I wonder which political party Eileen Wang is affiliated with? Hmm.. It's so hard to figure that out. Maybe we'll never know. She was probably a Republican, right? Because Republicans always do what China wants? No, something about that doesn't sound right.. hmm... let's keep thinking about this..

From what I understand, it's because we are not at war with China. If we were, then her propaganda would have totally constituted treason.

I give Governor Newsom credit because he went to China and fixed the "climate change" problem once and for all. So now if anyone ever says they're going to "fix climate change again" we can tell them "No, Governor Newsom already fixed it."

Treason is basically using your gov't authority to subvert the Constutition. She was in office (i.e. had gov't authority) and she was acting as a foreign agent - who did things against the Constutition.

I read that acting US AG Todd Blanche gave her a plea deal and she took it. If true, Todd Blanche is weak. He should have done better than that. (I've always said that Trump's biggest weakness is the people he trusts.)

I agree. But then there's the behind the scenes stuff that we aren't part of. Did we get something out of letting her take a plea deal?

Remember that totaltarian countries don't like their failures broadcast. So a plea deal might mean an execution when she gets back to China.

She was born in China so deportation after incarceration seems likely, but according what I just read: "The U.S. generally does not return individuals to China if they face the risk of the death penalty,"

I'm not sure what is meant by that, but sure, she could come out of prison in 10 years and dumb people will say "She's experienced in politics" and "I'd rather have someone who's experienced in politics than someone who is not."
