So sometimes synchronet quits/fails with no popup window in windows and there's no error msg or anything in the logs about why. only that it happened.

The next thing we should do is check windows event log, correct?

This is the wrong place to discuss/debug Synchronet issues, but yeah, crash reports are stored in the Event Log (Windows Logs -> Application). Along with any crash reports, the version/build of Synchronet and OS details are helpful.
